Integrated into
the base of each DigitalBins.com scale are three LED
lights. The scales and each LED can be addressed and
activated independently. The scales are available in a
variety of sizes to match standard bin sizes. You can
keep perfect inventory without ever doing a physical
count. You can dramatically simplify the picking and
receiving processes.
Light the green LED under the scale/bin you wish to
direct the picker to. Immediately upon a weight change
direct the picker to the next bin to pick from. Repeat
this process until the order has been completely picked.
A red light can indicate that the incorrect bin was
picked from for this order. A yellow light can indicate
that the order is picked complete.
Light the green LED under the scale/bin you wish to
direct the receiver to. Immediately upon a weight change
direct the receiver to the next bin to replenish. Repeat
this process until the purchase order has been
completely received. A red light can indicate that the
incorrect bin was replenished or the quantity received
does not match with the quantity purchased.
You can measure productivity by recording how long it
takes a picker to pick each SKU of an order. There are
literally hundreds of possibilities.
A Bin Distribution Switch (BDS) controls up to
twelve scale/LED modules. BDS are assigned unique
addresses then daisy-chained together. There is no limit
to the number of scale/LED modules that may be linked.
The entire chain is controlled by one serial com port. A
PC or integrated server can obtain weight from any scale
or light any LED on the chain programmatically.
